A corporate traveller agency brand has been recognised at a national awards ceremony held recently in Wellington.

The annual House of Travel Awards, hosted by celebrities Jono & Ben and Guy Williams, were held in Wellington at the new Shed 6 conference venue on 5th April.

Overall the big Orbit success of the day went to Orbit Corporate Travel in Wellington.  The outlet took out numerous awards including the award for Top Performing Orbit Outlet, as well as both the Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific top Volume and Growth awards.

In addition to the twelve Orbit Wellington consultants who achieved gold status; individual recognition awards also went to Lindy Purdy for Account Manager of the Year; Samantha Colson taking her place in the top 12 consultants across the House of Travel/Orbit group and Chris Peacock being recognised as a HOT legend alongside other inductees for 2013 Tony Jackson, Newmarket and Caro Smith from Morrinsville.

Paul Rennie who owns Orbit Corporate Travel Wellington with his wife Adrienne says they are pleased to see their team acknowledged for the excellent service they provide in the corporate travel area.

“It’s fantastic to have the huge efforts of the team recognised both within the company and by our airline partners.  The team has strived to ensure we secure all the new business we can, as well as retain our key accounts and it’s great for such hard work and dedication to be rewarded in this way,” says Rennie.

Another big winner in the Corporate Travel category was Paul Johnson from Orbit Corporate Travel in Hamilton, the corporate arm of House of Travel Calder & Lawson who beat more than 600 others to win the national award which saw him named the organisation’s Best Performer for 2013.  Johnson, who has worked for Calder & Lawson for more than 9 years, won Gold in 2007, 2010, 2011 and now in 2013 at the same awards ceremony, this time adding a brand new Hyundai to his collection of winning plaques.

“To be recognised as the Top Consultant of the Year selling corporate travel is quite incredible and the car is obviously the icing on the cake. I am passionate about providing the very best service to my clients and the strong relationships I have built up with them over the years means I can meet their personal expectations every time which I believe is one of the secrets to this success,” he says.

The teams received their prestigious awards at the company’s annual prize-giving in Auckland on April 5.
