Recently ACES pest control attended the international meeting Pest Summit in KL Malaysia. Attended by around 1000 delegates the conference addressed some of the challenges with commercial pest control.

In particular the challenges that come with Multi- story buildings. A common feature these apartments have is a garbage cute, where residents throw their garbage down to the ground level via a vertical cute.

Often the garbage contains food scraps and sits on the ground level for sometime. These are an excellent environment for cockroaches to breed.

These areas are often full of cracks and crevice, perfect harborage for cockroaches. As a result they are hard to treat successfully. Additionally access to infested areas may be difficult.

Traditional techniques have included fumigating from the closest access points, the first floor and ground floor upwards. This has a temporary effect as it is not able to reach into harborages of the deeper crack and crevice. Further fumigation suspends micro particles for a very short period of time. This short period of time further  reduces  the effectiveness of fumigation.

An innovative approach is to use foam as a carrier for your pest control chemicals. The foam is manufactured to a consistency of cream, that is it is sticky and persists for a longer period. The foam is dispensed from the first floor and applied so it completely covers the affected areas.

The result is direct application of chemicals to infested areas over a prolonged period- and more effective result against pests.
