BD14 has grown and developed from supplying transport companies with high standard professional drivers, to a full-service recruitment company and its founder, Karl Burgess, is now working alongside Linfox Palmerston North and Envirowaste to recruit drivers on to their books full time. Last month saw three full time drivers recruited through BD14 and now moved over to Linfox Palmerston North and two drivers from Wanganui recruited for Envirowaste.  The recruitment service was something Karl was hesitant about developing at first and says he’s still unsure where this will lead to. However for now it seems to be in good working progress and there seems to be quite a demand. Therefore he will look forward to seeing what potential this service has in the future and will continue to see it grow.

With spring now well and truly here and the beginning of the milk season just around the corner, BD14 is also busy finalising its team to cover the Symons contract. Due to the shortage of quality drivers within the local Manawatu region, Karl has been advertising outside of the area and is wanting to bring people into the district and supply them with accommodation to carry out work during this milk season. So far he has had a positive response to this and has already got drivers lined up to arrive in September from the Wellington and Hawkes bay area, as well as potentially guys from the Auckland region.

These drivers are now all in the process of going through inductions and testing being done as well as contracts and checks being put in place and completed before the season begins. Karl says it’s been a big process putting together this team of drivers. A lot has been learnt along the way, but is now very pleased with all the drivers and says he definitely has some exceptional drivers on board now.

Karl George Burgess believes passionately in delivering excellence to his clients, and because of his supreme service and hardworking ethics he has seen BD14 grow and develop rapidly over its first six months. He has engaged with many local transport companies and is proud to now be the sole provider for two of the largest companies within New Zealand.
