As global leaders in the latest drone innovations, Raglan-based Aeronavics Ltd continues to push the boundaries of Aerial Robotics Technology with the introduction of Edwin Hayes to the team.

Edwin has been actively involved with the UAV industry for several years and has an Honors degree in Mechatronics engineering from the University of Canterbury. Specialising in embedded software, his previous projects include industrial microwaves and helmet mounted sensors for firefighters. His wide range of technical skills will be an exciting addition to the Aeronavics team.

Edwin’s role within the company will include managing the technical roadmap and introducing new engineering competencies. This will involve working with the R&D team and engineers to find solutions for changes currently facing the UAV industry.

“Previously Aeronavics mainly focused on mechanical engineering with a small focus on electronics. My role is to introduce a new range of engineering disciplines to enable Aeronavics to grow as a company,” says Edwin.

Edwin will contribute to Aeronavics’ focus on producing complete solutions for customers, as well as streamlining the R&D roadmap for further development in the coming years.

“The industry is really exciting, and there are a large range of opportunities to further extend the technology. Aeronavics is already the clear leader in this industry in New Zealand and I hope to help the company to extend this leadership to the world market,” adds Edwin
