Rotary Run The Runway 2023

Organised by the Hamilton Rotary clubs, this year’s event will be ready for take-off at 6.45am on Sunday, 12th March 2023, all funds raised will benefit our Rotary projects.

After two very successful events, we are hoping to make this year’s event even bigger and better. Mike Cahill from Fairfield Rotary said, ”This event is a great opportunity to run, walk or jog along a flat 5k route on the Hamilton Airport runway.  All participants will receive a very special medal and we are hoping our third year, will be a really fun, family atmosphere,” Mike said.

Our previous events have proved very popular with families, and participants have been most complimentary about the event and our volunteers, they tell us that they have also enjoyed being able to watch the magnificent ‘Sunrises’ over the runway during the early morning event. The event is limited to 500 participants and we are confident there will be a lot of interest in participating in this unique event.

Each year, the Charity Fun Run raises funds for important local beneficiaries.  For 2023 the beneficiaries are “OrangeSky”, a local charity which provides free mobile laundry and shower services, and a space for connection for people experiencing homelessness or doing it tough.
