SEEK Continues Job Market Leadership with Record Breaking Month

In July SEEK continued to lead the online employment market in New Zealand, delivering over 750,000 unique visitors*. This is an all time record for monthly audience size on any job site in New Zealand, with SEEK clearly continuing to be the preferred destination for New Zealand job seekers.

In commenting on this record achievement Anne-Marie Duff, SEEK NZ General Manager says apart from the unique visitors, time spent on the site is also clearly the best measure of audience engagement.

“A key metric for site leadership is time on site, add this to the highest number of job ads available and SEEK is clearly number one. Visitors to job sites in New Zealand spend 60% of time on SEEK versus TradeMe Jobs. ”

SEEK is also providing more exclusive traffic to advertisers than the next two job sites combined, which includes over 510,000 unique visitors that do not go to TradeMe Jobs, an all time record.

Ms Duff also said “TradeMe Jobs has recently suggested that ‘page impressions’ is an important measure of audience engagement, when in fact this can be an indicator of inefficiency. Doing a search on TradeMe for instance from the home page takes four page impressions to get to an individual job ad.

Time is the best measure of how engaged jobseekers are with your site as it’s a combination of not only how many people come to your site but how often and how long they stay, regardless of how many pages they look at”

The most important recognition however of SEEK’s leadership was demonstrated in the latest NetGuide awards released in late July, where SEEK was voted best employment site by New Zealand jobseekers.
