Infant dead in drive way accident

At about 2:00pm on the 25th of July 2010 a twenty two month old female was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle reversing in the family driveway in Weymouth, Manukau City.

The vehicle was being driven by a family member who was unaware that the toddler had left the house to follow an older sibling.

Family members contacted ambulance but the toddler died at the scene.

Police Serious Crash members are working with the family to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

Wider family members have yet to be informed and no further information can be released until this occurs.
