A new event is offering music software users an opportunity to learn from the experts.

CreativeTech is a new technology forum about all things Apple, being held on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 September 2010 in Auckland.

The first of its kind in Australasia, the event sponsored by AUT and Vodafone offers a broad mix of ‘byte-sized’ talks or presentations including audio engineering and production, as well as design, developing, movie making, photography, business administration and more.

There are practical ‘how to’ sessions by the Rockshop’s Leon Dahl on Garageband and MAINZ’s Zed Brookes on Logic. Also from MAINZ, Ivan Shevchuk presents on ProTools in music production, and Tom Ludvigson presents on Ableton Live8, software allowing musicians, composers, producers and DJs to take laptop music into new contexts such as the club, stage and video-editing suite.

Keynote speakers ‘futurist’ Mark Pesce and MacTheMag (and former Australian Macworld) editor Matthew JC Powell offer expert insights into tomorrow’s technologies and the future of Apple.

While other speakers include 22 year old Australians and successful iPhone developers (Soulver and Picturesque) Zac Cohan and Nik Youdale; KIWA Media VP and QBook developer Roger Shakes; triathlete and iPhone developer Rob Beck; Lee Herbet from Renaissance; and Philip Fierlinger from Xero.

Attendees can also check out the very latest in software, applications, mobile and gaming technology.

Tickets start at an affordable $120 for a one-day pass and are available now. With multiple streams and small-to-medium lecture sizes, you can pick and choose which sessions are right for you. Seating is strictly limited so be in quick to secure your spot.
