Offenders arrested minutes after pharmacy robbery
At 6.00pm this evening [Friday] the Bealey Pharmacy on the corner of Colombo Street and Bealey Avenue, Christchurch was robbed at knife-point and a large quantity of controlled drugs stolen.
After the robbery the offender made his escape in a stolen vehicle driven by a co-offender. Within minutes the Police had found the stolen vehicle with the two offenders present and apprehended them at the intersection of Papanui Road and Bealey Avenue.
The two persons arrested were a 48 year old unemployed male and a 45 year old unemployed male both from Addington. They will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Saturday 31st July 2010.
These two males have also been charged with the knife-point Robberies of the St Martins Pharmacy on the 29th June 2010 and the Woodham Road Pharmacy 14th July 2010 where large quantities of controlled drugs were stolen.
