Bayleys takes out top accolades at annual Real Estate Institute awards

Leading real estate agency Bayleys has taken out two of the top accolades at this year’s Real Estate Institute of New Zealand annual awards.

The company’s Auckland Central and Counties/Manukau offices have taken out the title for best commercial and industrial sales offices in New Zealand, while Gary Wallace won the award for best residential salesperson in New Zealand. Fellow Bayleys salesperson James Chan came runner up in the best commercial and industrial salesperson category.

Judging criteria for the awards encompassed the volume of successful sales transactions completed by both individual salespeople and by offices, and the value of those sales.

Bayleys managing director Mike Bayley said the awards were recognition of an outstanding year’s sales achievements for the Auckland city and Counties/Manukau offices, Gary Wallace, and James Chan.

“Gary Wallace has been our number one salesperson, across all market sectors, for the past three years. This REINZ award is further acknowledgement of his achievements operating in one of the toughest market segments in the country,” Mr Bayley said.

“Likewise with our Central Auckland and Counties/Manukau commercial and industrial sales stats, which have outperformed the market over the past 12 months. Sure the past year has been a tough time for the wider real estate industry, but these REINZ awards show that with application, dedication, and the appropriate support network of marketing campaigns, outstanding results can still be achieved for vendors.”

REINZ chief executive officer Helen Sullivan said the awards were indicative of the importance the institute placed on celebrating success stories in the industry.

Ms Sullivan said that the high standards achieved by the Bayleys Central Auckland and Counties/Manukau commercial and industrial offices, and Gary Wallace in the residential sector, had, along with the other award winners, set “a new benchmark for industry excellence.”

The REINZ Awards were presented in Auckland recently and were attended by representatives from real estate agencies throughout New Zealand.
