Three men have been critically injured after a car hit a power pole in Hawke's Bay this morning.

Ambulance services said they were called to the scene in Wairoa on State Highway Two after a car hit the power pole and then rolled at around 6.23am.

A Hawke's Bay hospital spokesperson says four men are in hospital from the crash.

The spokesperson said three of the men are in a critical condition in intensive care. She said one is in his twenties and the other two are teenagers.

The other passenger is in a stable condition.

Fire services set up a landing pad for a helicopter to collect the patients and transport them to hospital earlier today.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist has died after crashing into a house in Waikato last night.

The motorcyclist was dead when emergency services arrived at the scene on Golf Road in Taumarunui at around 10.20pm.

Ambulance services would not confirm the age or gender of the deceased.
