Christmas & Holiday Hours
There's just a week to go until the holidays kick in for many of us, including Council staff. Most of us will be away on Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 December) and also on New Year's Day and 2 January.
However, our Contact Centre remains open 24 hours a day, every day, so if you have a problem with your water supply, street lighting, or if you want to know what's happening in the city over that time, give us a call on (04) 499 4444.
Our Service Centre at 101 Wakefield Street will be closed on the statutory days (as above), as well as New Year's Eve.

Swimming Pools
Aside from Christmas Day, all our swimming pools remain open. Hours vary during this time, so please make sure to check our Holiday Hours (above) before heading out for a swim.

Libraries
And if you plan to spend your holiday time reading, make sure to head along to our libraries before closing time on Christmas Eve. We also have a huge range of audiobooks, DVDs and magazines.

Rubbish Collections
As for rubbish collections, the only people affected are those whose rubbish is collected on Tuesdays. If that's you, put your rubbish and recycling out on the following Friday evening for collection on the Saturday.
