Brutal attack leaves two Christchurch residents with serious injuries

DEVELOPING NEWS: Two elderly people have sustained serious injuries after an assault in the city of Christchurch this afternoon.

A St Johns spokesperson confirmed that a man and a woman were taken to the emergency department after a callout at around 1.15pm.

Police are investigating a scene examination at a private property on St Martins road and are speaking to neighbours.

INFONEWS.CO.NZ understands the man has a head injury while the woman has an arm injury.
