Person airlifted to hospital after crash

A person has been airlifted to Christchurch Hospital following a two car collision near Dunsandel.

A fire service spokersperson has confirmed to infonews.co.nz that the man needed to be cut free from the wreckage but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Boundary Creek Road and State Highway 1 just after midday.
Traffic is being diverted away from the scene.
