Australian gunman siege over

An armed gunman is in custody after a stand off with police in Brisbane's CBD this afternoon.

Brisbane's Queen St mall was put in lockdown after police received reports of a gunman in the mall. 

Heavily armed officers surrounded the mall and numerous inner city blocked were evacuated.   

Multiple sources from the scene reported the gunman was shot by police and left the scene in an ambulance.

This followed an increase in police activity and several shots being heard.
