Kent is excited to announce it has become a new support sponsor of the ANZ Netball Championship in New Zealand for this year.

Kent fires have been keeping New Zealanders warm and cosy for over 30 years, and that tradition continues today under the proud ownership of Hamilton-based family firm, Aber Holdings Ltd.

“Kent are delighted to be enhancing New Zealand’s home advantage both on the court and at home as a new support sponsor of the ANZ Championship,” said managing director of Aber Holdings Ltd, Gregg Brown.

“This sponsorship offers us a national presence and Kent is a New Zealand-owned company with a Kiwi focus,” Mr Brown said. “It is a great fit for us – after all netball is a winter game and most of our business comes at the same time of the year.”

“We considered other sponsorships but believed that netball offered us the best value for money and it is an iconic brand with very loyal supporters which once again has a parallel with Kent’s model,” Mr Brown said.

“The Kent brand will look in year one of the sponsorship to establish an association with netball and then build on this in the years to come,” he said. “We are excited about the season ahead and what it will bring.”

Kent is also partnering with a player in the inaugural year of its sponsorship. The Kent netball ambassador will be highly-regarded Hamilton-based Central Pulse netballer, Joline Henry who is an exceptional role model and recently became a new Mum.
Since its beginnings in the South Island, Kent has always been known for providing reliable, high quality, affordable wood fires for New Zealand households.

The Kent brand rapidly made a name for itself as an innovative wood burner through its excellent design and performance features, like its unique use of internal baffles to optimise the efficiency of the firebox. Kent also pioneered the “double burning principle” in domestic wood fires, increasing heating efficiency and dramatically reducing heating cost.

“At Aber we understand the important part wood fires play in heating homes throughout this great country. We seek to develop products that enable Kiwi’s to use this natural and renewable resource effectively and efficiently with minimal impact on our unique environment. Our extensive range of wood fires, include clean air and rural options, enabling the consumer to choose the right fire for their specific needs,” said Brown.
