Kilgravin Lodge Celebrates Easter Handicap Win By Viadana

Kilgravin Lodge had a role to play in the success of Viadana who provided Matamata trainer Lance Noble with his first Group 1 winner at Ellerslie on Saturday.

Viadana captured the winners’ prize in the $200,000 Easter Handicap and the win brought back plenty of memories for Eion Kemp, who operates Kilgravin Lodge.

“She was broken in, agisted and pre-trained at Kilgravin Lodge,” says Eion.

“She was a weak and later maturing type and was tough to handle. She didn’t enter the stable until she was in third preparation. I’ve got to say she was strong willed and had attitude,” he said.

Eion Kemp said he was thrilled for Lance Noble that he gained his first Group 1 training success with Viadana.

“Lance has been a client of Kilgravin Lodge from the outset and we are rapt for him,” says Eion Kemp.

Kilgravin Lodge was also represented by Brave Centaur in the Easter Handicap as well as Zurella.
