EXCLUSIVE @ INFONEWS.CO.NZ: Early this year Michael Riley,15 brought a pack of avocados while helping his mum with supermarket groceries at Pak'n Save in New Plymouth.

He felt to see if the avocados were ripe and 'they felt right', however when his family opened the avocado's they had mould in them that Michael described as 'spiderwebs'.

A photo has been uploaded to show the bad extent of the avocado of which he sent the Taranaki Daily News, Taranakis newspaper company who made investigations into it.

They investigations confirmed the worst, the avocados had been sitting at PAK'NSAVE New Plymouth for over eight weeks, a scientist told the newspaper company that avocados should only sit in supermarkets for the maximum of four weeks.

When Pak'nSave was told about the avocados they took them all of sale within hours, but declined to make any comment.

However, the family is now sick after buying a bakery food that had been reduced with 24 hours left, they told infonews.co.nz that they ate the cake within two-three hours, Michael Riley said it tasted foul and discontinued to eat the cake.

PAK'nSAVE has so far refused to make any comment.
