Body found in New Plymouth, 'body been in water' - Police

BREAKING NEWS: infonews.co.nz can confirm earlier this afternoon a body was found near Paritutu Rock in New Plymouth.

The body had been in the water for quite some time police said. 

We can confirm the body is that of a missing man that was missing since yesterday morning. 

infonews.co.nz can not reveal the name of the 65 year old man however we do know.

We will not reveal the name until police have released the name.

Family and friends have been told and a friend of the man has told infonews.co.nz they are devistated.

The man died of suspected suicide.
