The operation, the brainchild of John Street and Graham Blackburn,  has been  around for more than three decades having commenced  modestly with two horses in  1985 and has won more than 300 races.

Major races during this time include the Zabeel Classic, Wellington Guineas, Karaka Millions, New Zealand Oaks, Coupland and Rich Hill Miles, Fred Best Classic in Brisbane, and South Pacific Handicap in Sydney in thoroughbred circles as well as the Auckland Pacing Cup, Sires Stakes Final, Emerald Jewels Final I and Inter Dominion Trotting Final in harness racing.

Ray Green is the trainer of the Kumeu-based harness racing stable of Lincoln Farms while Lisa Latta, one of the top trainers in the galloping code this season heads up the thoroughbred stable in the Central Districts.

Given this success Lincoln Farms is now launching into a new age with the setting up of racing partnerships for both codes.

“Our goal is to concentrate on quality racehorses and breeding stock,” said Ian Middleton, manager of Lincoln Farms Partnerships which will also be standing two standardbred stallions.

“We will be expanding partnerships with a small group of willing partners,” Middleton said.

“Lincoln Farms is focussed on group racing in both codes and will redefine breeding lines with a small focussed team of horses,” he said.

Lincoln Farms offers first-class agistment facilities in three Palmerston North and Kumeu areas of New Zealand.

Three key personnel involved with the Lincoln Farms operation include:

Ray Green – racing trainer based on our Kumeu Farm. He has a great strike rate including many Group race winners including Sir Lincoln, winner of the Auckland Cup. Ray has 45 years racing and training experience having worked in New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada, France and Scandanavia.

Danny Boyle is the manager of the stud operation and co-oridinator for the breeding services offered by Lincoln Farms. Danny has been in the standardbred breeding industry for several  years and was formerly with Nevele R Stud in Canterbury.

Ian Middleton is the manager of racing partnerships, sales and disbursements.
