My Guinness Rules  saw three finalists who battled it out in a fierce and exciting competition.  In the end it was ‘Team Te Awamutu’ that took the title.

My Guinness Rules challenged teams to cook with a box of mystery ingredients.” Each team had one “chef” who did the cooking, and the meal had to incorporate one half pint of Guinness,” says Duncan Otto, co-owner of Biddy Mulligans in Hamilton.

“It was a great final, the judges were pleased with what the teams served,” says Duncan.

The exciting finale took place in two parts. Firstly, each team cooked 26 delicious entrees on three BBQ’s in 20 minutes. The next task saw the competitors cook 26 mains on three BBQ’s in 30 minutes.

The judges scored the teams complete dishes which are marked out of ten. Presentation, flavour, team interaction and creativity will all be taken into account in the judge’s scores.

Biddy Mulligans is Hamilton’s only authentic Irish pub. With great food and atmosphere, Biddy’s is fast becoming Hamilton’s favourite local.

“It was a fantastic event and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had a lot of interest of when we are doing our next one,” says Brigette Otto co-owner of Biddy Mulligans in Hamilton.
