More infant formula recalled in China
BREAKING NEWS: We can confirm from China media that the Stage 3 formula of Abbott-brand products in China is being recalled.
The New Zealand Embassy in Beijing has said that two batches of Abbott-brand products manufactured by Fonterra may have been tainted by a botulinum bacteria. Abbott has started pre-emptive recalls of two batches of Stage 3 infant formula manufactured on May 2, 2013.
The recalled products include 7,181 boxes, including 112 boxes that have already been sold. The remaining boxes in inventory have been sealed.
Just days ago Stages 1 and 2 were recalled from China but now there are reports that Stage 3 is effected in China.
infonews.co.nz is beginning to investigate to see if Stage 3 KariCare is effected by this in New Zealand.
The Chinese government is "very angry", media reports.
