Stepping out for charity

New Zealand shoe designer Ziera is pledging a minimum $10,000 as a donation to Dress for Success in a trans-Tasman show of support for the global women’s charity.

Ziera, which has 46 stores collectively in Australia and New Zealand, has pledged the funds to help Dress for Success in its mission to empower women to be confident and independent.

The company is promising to donate $1 for every pair of shoes sold in-store from its spring / summer collection between 21 September and 4 October.

Ziera managing director Andrew Robertson says the company has been supporting the not-for-profit organisation in an unofficial capacity for several years.

“We have been helping out with product donations and because we admire what Dress for Success is achieving we were keen to formalise the arrangement.

“Dress for Success fits perfectly with Ziera’s brand philosophy and positioning,” Mr Robertson says.

“Dress for Success gives disadvantaged women confidence to be real, confident and independent and those values are also at the core of the Ziera brand.”

Sue Lewis-O’Halloran who is regional director of Australia & New Zealand for Dress for Success Worldwide says the organisation is delighted to be trans-Tasman partners with Ziera Shoes.

The funds raised will go to help more women in need as they enter or return to the workforce,” Sue Lewis-O’Halloran says.

Dress for Success helps by providing clients with clothes for a job interview, grooming tips, career advice and support and, once they land a job, continued mentoring.

Since launching in NZ in 1999, Dress for Success has assisted more than 20,000 women here.
