MediaPA are pleased to announce that The Waikato Treasure Chests are the first charity to come aboard the social giving juggernaut with MediaPA’s charity social media package – Charity Connect.

Charity Connect was developed by MediaPA’s Phillip Quay to help give back to local communities through SOCIAL GIVING.

MediaPA’s Charity Connect helps to build awareness and raise funds for not for profits through the social media powerhouses of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Pinterest as well as the fast-growing MediaPA network.

The Waikato Treasure Chests are a Dragon Boat team for survivors and supporters of women with breast cancer.

The Waikato Treasure Chests provides breast cancer survivors with the opportunity to lead full and active lives regardless of their sporting ability, supported by a team of women who have travelled a similar journey.

“It is hard to describe the feelings we had upon completion of our first race in 2004 – a huge sense of accomplishment and pride. But more than that was coming together with a group of women who had experienced the breast cancer diagnosis and decided not to let that hold them back from life and all it has to offer,” says Dallas Honey, President of the Waikato Treasure Chests.

The future seasons hold the promise of new experiences for The Waikato Treasure Chests. They aim to compete in several regattas each year – in Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington and Auckland. “It is always a privilege to meet up with the other breast cancer survivor teams from around the country,” says Dallas.

The Waikato Treasure Chests have joined MediaPA’s social giving programme set up to connect charities and businesses through sponsorship arrangements. This provides a great opportunity for businesses to promote themselves  in a positive manner on-line through social media and on-line marketing.

Phillip Quay of MediaPA is delighted to have the Waikato Treasure Chests on board as the first charity in its network.

“We welcomed the Waikato Treasure Chests on board as the first charity in our network at a function at Carlton Party Hire in Hamilton last Friday night and it was very warmly received by everyone at the function,” Quay said.
