Party turns to nightmare, extra forces on way

Police are currently at the scene of a party that has turned into a nightmare, punches have been thrown, bottles too. 

The latest we know is that a riot has began near Omata Road in New Plymouth. The riot began after a party got "out of hand" and people started throwing punches and throwing bottles around too, a partygoer has told us. 

Police first on the scene called for back-up just moments ago, and police vans were sent from Belt Road where a police stop was underway.

The police stop was cancelled so more forces could be sent to help with the nightmare.
