Rotorua pizza lovers will now receive their pizKaedyn_and_Liamzas quicker than ever, as the owner of the city’s new store is named Australasia’s ‘Fastest Pizza Cutter.’

Kaedyn Stops, who recently opened a local Domino’s pizza store with his brother Liam, is the first Rotorua-based employee to win the company’s prestigious prize.

The title, which is awarded about six times a year, saw Kaedyn cut two pizzas and put them in a hot delivery cell in 14.64 seconds while he was timed.

“I’ve always been one of the fastest pizza cutters in every team I’ve worked for, but to know I’m the quickest in all of Australia and New Zealand is awesome,” he says.

“Owning my own store now gives me even more drive to deliver the best service possible.”

The new pizza outlet, which will celebrate its Official Grand Opening this Monday, is Kaedyn, 19, and 18-year-old Liam’s first business.

The teenagers started working for Domino’s in their hometown of Hastings when they were 12, before moving to the Napier outlet, where they both eventually attained the roles of Shift Managers.

The boys’ new store has created 10 jobs for the Rotorua community, and Liam says they are thrilled to be able to pass their new skills and knowledge on.

“It’s exciting to now have the opportunity to mentor others into managerial positions,” he says.

“We are looking forward to helping others grow as we have. This is not only our first business, but our first time living away from home.”

The General Manager for Domino’s New Zealand, Scott Bush, says it’s great to see talented young staff members acquire their own stores.

“After a total of 13 years with the company combined, the boys now have the knowledge to hit the ground running as they start their own business. As a company, we are committed to helping young staff move through the ranks and achieve their career goals through ongoing training and support,” he says.

Kaedyn and Liam say the inclination of Rotorua pizza lovers to pick up their pizzas has made it easier for them to get to know the community.

“We sold more than 275 pizzas on our first day, so we had a good chance to meet a lot of our future regulars,” says Kaedyn.

The pair will mark the opening of the new outlet by decorating the store with balloons, running in-store specials and having Domino’s national mascot Pepperoni Pete on-site to greet customers on Monday.

To be a part of the store’s official opening festivities visit the outlet at 16/5 Tarawera Rd on November 11.
