Otorohanga's Waitomo Caves Hotel perfect for weddings, business conferences

“The history is what makes it unique. It’s faded slightly and dated but it’s a ruthlessly clean, beautiful and iconic building.
“A lot of people love staying in old-fashioned art deco buildings.”
The large ballroom and rose-filled garden, which is well kept and maintained, means Waitomo Caves Hotel is perfect for weddings.
“This place lends itself to a nice wedding,” says Pat.
Waitomo Caves Hotel in Otorohanga is within close proximity to a number of local attractions.
As well as the Waitomo Caves, guests can go abseiling or black water rafting at Cave World. Marokopa Falls and the Mangapohue Natural Bridge are also a stone’s throw away.
Those things make it ideal for businesses looking for somewhere to have a conference, retreat or do team-building activities.
“It’s an amazing area with plenty to do,” says Pat.
“It’s a good place for a conference because there are enough things here if you want to do team-bonding activities or have a retreat. There are no other distractions and it is also quiet.”
Twenty-three rooms are available across the art deco and Victorian wings at Waitomo Caves Hotel in Otorohanga.
A fully licensed bar and restaurant is open seven days a week.
Prices vary depending on which you choose, although Pat is more than willing to negotiate terms with guests.
“I can’t see the point of turning anybody away. We’re all about good old-fashioned hospitality here.”
