Appeal Court decision on honey from Australia

Appeal Court decision to uphold an appeal by New Zealand beekeepers regarding an import health standard covering honey from Australia.

MAF Biosecurity New Zealand (MAFBNZ) is assessing today’s Appeal Court decision regarding the above.

MAFBNZ’s Director of Policy & Risk Douglas Birnie says the implications of today’s decision are uncertain.

“Clearly we are concerned but we are seeking further legal advice and, until then, will not be able to comment further”, says Douglas Birnie.
