Are you looking for opportunities get out and about this summer and enjoy what the region has to offer? Greater Wellington has an abundance of exciting events in the region’s parks and forests for all the family to enjoy as part of the 2008 Regional Outdoors Programme.

The popular programme is now in its eighth year with over 40 events, from a nature discovery treasure hunt in Kaitoke Regional Park’s low-land rainforest, to the Giant Rata Journey in the glorious East Harbour Regional Park.

“Our region is full of recreational opportunities for people of all ages and fitness levels,” says Cr Rex Kirton, Chair of Greater Wellington’s Parks, Forests and Utilities Committee. “Most of the programme’s events are either free or very low in cost, so I hope that people will get out there and explore our parks and forests.”
