IN AN act of social giving Hamilton-based Argent Motor Lodge have announced their sponsorship of the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Argent Motor Lodge will assist with financial donations to the helicopter trust which will enable them continue the amazing work they do everyday.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter provides a dedicated, free, life saving rescue service which is available 24/7. When you see them and when you hear them it is often a matter of life and death.
The service is able to be airborne within 10 minutes and in a life and death situation it is this speed and agility that can make all the difference.
Based at the Jennian Hangar at the Waikato Hospital in Pembroke Street, Hamilton, the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter provides a 24-hour emergency service, 365 days a year.
“In the case of supporting the Waikato Westpac Rescue we thought it was the right thing to do,” says Argent Motor Lodge owner Graeme Hunt.
Argent Motor Lodge is only 500m from the main entrance of Waikato Hospital and the landing pad for the Waikato Westpac Helicopter.
“They’re like our neighbours,” says Leah Lindsay who is the motel operation manager at Argent Motor Lodge. “We hear them taking off and we know they are going to save a life,” adds Lindsay.
“Our core clients are people who come here to stay either supporting a sick relative or in some cases they are the patient waiting to go in for a procedure themselves or getting treatment at the hospital,” says Graeme.
“It’s a great service and we are proud to be supporting them,” adds Graeme.
