One of New Zealand's top rotor-cross competitors has now joined the team at the Raglan-based drone innovators Aeronavics.
Raglan-based drone innovators Aeronavics have today announced the appointment of one of New Zealand’s top rotor-cross competitors, Scott Spooner (pictured), to their rapidly expanding team.
Scott Spooner will be working as a UAV Technician/ Trainer, and will be in charge of electronic installation and flight testing, as well as training new clients of Aeronavics.
With 20 years of radio-controlled model experience, Scott has always had a keen interest in multi-rotor crafts. “Moving to ‘bigger and better’ machines has always been a dream of mine – you could say now that I’m livin’ the dream!,” comments Scott.
Bringing his wealth of experience to the foremost industry leading Aeronavics, Scott has a Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering with Honors from the University of Canterbury, and is a National Instructor and Examiner For The Model Flying New Zealand Wings Test.
His extensive experience with building, flying and training makes him a valuable new member to the Aeronavics team.
“I am looking forward to being on the cutting edge of aerial robotic technology. Aeronavics is an industry leader, and I am excited to be able to build and test the next generation of aerial robotic solutions.”
The introduction of Scott to the team coincides perfectly with the production of the Next Generation of Aeronavics Craft.
The Next Generation of Aeronavics craft will improve on their industry-leading designs, with greater handling, improved specifications, and added safety features.
Linda Bulk, a director of Aeronavics, is looking forward to the launch of the new range.

These machines are tailored to surveying and mapping, inspection, media and broadcasting, agriculture and farming and heavy industry. These tailored solutions will be delivered as ‘ready to fly’ craft, complete with training and technical support. These craft are available for purchase now, with delivery expected early next year.
