Hamilton's Supermarket for Cars officially opened.
Today marks a new era for Hamilton’s motor industry, as 4Guys Autobarn officially opens one of New Zealand’s largest car dealerships.
At the official ceremony this evening, a range of staff, family and guests will assemble to celebrate the unique achievement which is New Zealand’s first Supermarket for Cars.
With over 20 years of trading experience, 4Guys Autobarn is home to multiple staff members who have spent several decades in the motor industry.
Such impressive longevity can only be brought about by a career-long emphasis on integrity, respect and empathy and settling for nothing but quality.
Coming from the early days of a 60-car-dealership to the new site which is capable of housing over 400 vehicles, with fully serviced workshops and subsidiaries businesses on site such as Mastercraft and Liquid Lab, CEO Monte Wells talks of the excitement that comes with this type of venture.
“It is something that hasn’t been done before, a yard that is comfortable to stock a range of cars from $6000 to $260,000 means that we are now a virtual Supermarket for Cars,” he says.
“With such a saturated market currently and so much low quality stock around, it is our emphasis on quality vehicles that keeps us competitive in this current environment. Close attention is paid to pricing, but there is a general understanding that quality is imperative and if it is too cheap to be true, it probably is,” adds Mr Wells.
General Manager Grant Chapman talks of a focus on the new yard being a destination for car buyers and genuine enthusiasts. “We have exciting stock, so it is no surprise that we regularly find customers coming from Auckland, Wellington and even Christchurch travelling to find their new vehicle”.
Hamilton is one of New Zealand’s hubs of the automotive industry. Many people don’t consider the span of the motor industry in New Zealand, but when you add the car yards, mechanics, panel beaters, painters and the myriad of other automotive contractors, the employment offered by the motor industry makes it one of the back bones of New Zealand business.
