Agent with X-Factor in line to win Rookie of the Year Award

Popular young real estate agent Jono Ng has been making big waves since he started work at Lugton’s Real Estate in Hamilton a year ago.  He is now in the running to win Lugton’s Rookie of the Year award for 2016.

The 32 year-old father of two young boys was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and brought up in the Waikato.  He holds a degree in Sports Science from Wintec and is fluent in four languages – English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.

“I never thought I’d be a real estate agent,” says Jono. “I just reached the point where I needed a change.

“I’m quite an on-the-go guy. I like to get things done straight away.  In real estate there’s no one to hold your hand. You’ve just got to roll with the punches, which I find very exciting. 

“It is very demanding but I’m glad I made the change.”

Claire Lugton, owner of Lugton’s Real Estate, says she is impressed, but not surprised, that Jono has made a success of his new career in real estate.

“He’s a very likeable person and people love to work with him,” says Ms Lugton. “As soon as I met him I could see something in him that would make a successful agent. Some people just have that X factor. It’s a combination of personality, enthusiasm and motivation.”

Jono is already rated in the top 20 sales agents at Lugton’s and is becoming widely known within the community for his genuine personality and good character. 

Claire Lugton says it’s impossible not to wish the best for Jono.  “We’ve got over 70 agents here at Lugton’s,” she says, “and everyone is genuinely pleased to see him doing so well.”
