Since they opened the doors to their clinic on August 1st 2015 Alex and Kathryn Boyd have been providing the Bay of Plenty with hands-on clinical skills, to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability.

Starting a physiotherapy clinic from scratch is a something that most people wouldn’t dream of doing, but that is just what young couple Alex and Kathryn Boyd did. – And with great success.

Both Alex and Kathryn have years of experience to share with their clients, so they know they are in safe hands when they go to Re-energise Physio

Alex Boyd is the director/senior physio at popular Re-Energise Physio. Alex brings his wealth of experience to the Papamoa based physiotherapy clinic. “I also ran clinics for two of the largest companies in Auckland where I managed a team of up to 8 physios,” comments Alex.

For fitness nuts and sports fanatics, Alex also has experience working with various sports teams including that of premier rugby, soccer, swimming, netball, triathletes and CrossFit. “All that experience has taught me to understand the needs and demands of professional sport players and health professionals,” says Alex.

Working with all types of people, Alex has worked at 10 different retirement villages in the past five years. He also has five years of swim coaching experience, which means that you can add hydrotherapy to his list of skills.

Not only Kathryn Boyd is the Business Manager of Re-Energise Physio, she is a qualified teacher of Drama and Dance having gained a Bachelor of Performing Arts at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts in Christchurch. “She now expertly juggles her energies between the children she teaches at Otumoetai Intermediate and our clinic,” adds Alex.

Driving high quality customer service, Kathryn has a background that also includes several years of managing hospitality venues in both Auckland and Christchurch.

“Having survived the two massive earthquakes in Christchurch, Kathryn has amazing empathy for others and her bubbly and caring personality will make you feel relaxed and welcome,” comments Alex.

Alex and Kathyrn are always happy to share their knowledge and always offer their advice on injury prevention as well as providing you with total injury/post-surgery education and suitable rehabilitation programmes.
