Stay at Chelsea Park Motor Lodge for Light Nelson
For the third year in a row, the city of Nelson will be illuminated with its mid-winter event, Light Nelson, taking place at the Queens Gardens. This year it will also extend to the NMIT (Nelson Malborough Institute of Technology) campus.
Lee Sinclair, from Nelson’s Chelsea Park Motor Lodge, says she is excited to once again be able to witness this extravaganza of laser technology, digital imagery, performance and music.
“We’re thrilled to be able to provide accommodation for visitors coming to Nelson to experience the Light Nelson Festival,” says Lee. “It’s a wonderful thing for visitors to see and a great thing for the Nelson community to be involved in.”
With more than 40 artists involved in this year’s Light Nelson Festival, the event involves an outdoor gallery of light installations in a collision of art, science and technology.
Members of Nelson’s community, young and old, will take part in displaying unique forms of light art, overseen by the hardworking committee of the Light Nelson Trust.
Lee Sinclair says if anyone is thinking of coming to Nelson for the Light Nelson Festivities, she is happy to book them into Chelsea Park Motor Lodge and give them directions to the festival.
Chelsea Park Motor Lodge is located on Rutherford Street, close to Nelson’s shops, boutique restaurants and cafés and a short walk to the Queens Gardens and NMIT Campus, where Light Nelson will be taking place.

The Light Nelson Festival will run from 5:30 to 9:30 each evening from Friday 8 July to Tuesday 12 July.
