The award-winning Heeni Waitere joins leading Hamilton Hairdressers The Engine Room.
The award-winning Heeni Waitere is the latest addition to the already stellar cast of hairdressers at Hamilton-Based Hair Experts, The Engine Room.
With a background in beauty therapy, Heeni fell in love with the creativity of hair dressing. “With hair dressing I could be more creative and have more fun with it and be more outspoken,” says Heeni.
“I love doing hair ups and competition work,” says Heeni. Recently Heeni competed in NZARH Waikato Hair Stylist of the Year 2016 Regional Competitions in which she placed 3rd for Hair by Night – Presentation Event. She also won the WINTEC Creative Hair Competition.
Seeing the transformation of her clients is one of Heeni’s most enjoyable aspects of her job. “Having a client leaving the salon looking and feeling good, is one of the best parts of the job,” says Heeni.
Heeni was introduced to Kaleb Phillippe, owner of the Engine Room, through Ashley Cook who she studied with while at WINTEC and is currently among the stellar engine room team of expert hairdressers.
“Working at The Engine Room is great. It’s very relaxed and a great work environment. Kaleb is very good and it’s great to be able to go to him for advice any time,” adds Heeni.
