Ikoi Spa of Takapuna, Auckland, Helps Celebrate 70 Years of Sothys

This year, being the 70th anniversary of Sothys, de Spa Cosmetics had extra reason to celebrate when they held their 6th biennial Sothys convention in Christchurch, New Zealand. Anne Marie de Spa, founder and owner of de Spa Cosmetics, has been working with Sothys since 1989.

Sothys has gained an international reputation for developing quality skincare products and treatments in the 70 years since a young medical biologist named Dr. Hotz gained notoriety for his ground-breaking treatment, used to treat thousands of burns sufferers as a result of the Second World War.

The Sothys legacy has continued to this day, staying true to its key principles in its commitment to science, nature and the overall treatment experience.

Ikoi Spa of Takapuna, on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand, offers a number of treatments using Sothys, from facials to full body treatments. Their professional therapists can customize Sothys treatments to suit individual needs.

Guests at the 2016 de Spa Cosmetics Sothys Convention included Marielle Bonne, Sothys Paris Export Director, who flew in from France for the event and was hosted for the weekend in Christchurch.

Guests stayed the Novotel in Christchurch, where the conference was held in the Waimakariri room. Invitees were treated to a full and enjoyable weekend, including a visit to the Jouvence Beauty Institute on Friday, dinner, drinks and dancing at the George Hotel on Saturday night with a live band and prizes for the best dressed 1940s and 1950s outfits, to tie into the 70th anniversary theme.

On Sunday, guests were treated to a Christchurch City Sights bus tour, where they took in the sights of Christchurch including Sumner Beach and important points of the Christchurch earthquake rebuild.
