New Zealand Cricket has today announced the New Zealand Cricket XI to play Bangladesh in a Twenty20 game at Seddon Park, Hamilton on Sunday 23 December.

The match is the highlight of a day of fundraising activity at Seddon Park for World Vision’s Cyclone Sidr relief efforts.

The team is:
Stephen Fleming (captain)
Jesse Ryder
Jamie How
Peter Fulton
Ross Taylor
Scott Styris
Gareth Hopkins
Jeetan Patel
Tim Southee
Michael Mason
Iain O’Brien
James Marshall (reserve fielder)

“The game will be an opportunity for a number of BLACKCAPS to play ahead of The National Bank Series against Bangladesh,” said selection manager Sir Richard Hadlee.

“It also allows the chance for some exciting emerging players. Jesse Ryder is an undoubted talent at the top of the order, while Tim Southee is a very promising fast-bowler. This match gives both players exposure to an international-class level of competition.

“The game will also mark the last time Stephen Fleming will captain a New Zealand team in a limited overs game.”

Gates open at Seddon Park at 1.45pm. The Samsung NZCPA Masters XI v New Zealand Under-19 XI match starts at 2.45pm, and the New Zealand Cricket XI v Bangladesh match commences at 6.45pm.
