If you want help repairing or improving a listed heritage building the City Council could offer financial assistance.

The Council’s Natural and Cultural Heritage Incentive Fund is available for the purpose and is also a source of funding for heritage related research, education and promotion initiatives.

The Council’s Projects Coordinator, Rhiannon Malley, is inviting people to make application but encourages them first to consult the eligibility guidelines to find out what will be considered for funding.

Rhiannon explains that the incentive fund is a valuable financial resource. “We protect these buildings through the District Plan and the fund complements and offsets those necessary regulatory provisions,” she says.

Completed applications must be returned to the Council by 4pm on Friday, February 1.

They are available from www.pncc.govt .nz or by contacting Rhiannon on 06-356-8199 or via her email rhiannon.malley@pncc.govt.nz
