AUCKLAND

His Excellency the Honourable Anand Satyanand, PCNZM, Governor General of New Zealand will review the Navy on Parade at 10:00 am on Friday 18 January 2008.

Accompanied by the Navy Band and a 100 man Royal Guard of Honour, up to 600 naval personnel from 7 ships, operational units and Naval Support Command will be on parade at Ngataringa Bay Sports Complex, off Jim Titchener Drive, Devonport.

At 10:00 am a 21 Gun Salute will be fired from Ngataringa Sports Fields and Seasprite Helicopters will perform a Flypast.

Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral David Ledson and Maritime Component Commander, Commodore Tony Parr will also be in attendance.

Among the awards to be presented at the Parade include a Chief of Navy Commendation, the MONOWAI Trophy for Operational Excellence, the CDR W.L.J. Smith Trophy for Support Force Excellence, the Chatham Rose Bowl for the most efficient Fleet unit overall and the formal presentation to the 2007 Sailor of the Year.
