On Saturday, 26 January, Waiheke turns up the volume for the Holden Astra Summer Sounds Waiheke's Little Day In event – part of Auckland City Council's free Music in Parks programme.

Headline act, reggae legend Tigi Ness and his band Unity Pacific, are sure to relax visitors to Onetangi Sports Park with their sweet reggae sounds.

The line up for the family-friendly event also features an electric guitar performance by Billy TK Junior. Local talent supporting these exciting acts includes the gifted 14-year-old Ben Kara.

Holden Astra Summer Sounds is part of the council's Music in Parks programme, celebrating 15 summers of free, live Kiwi music in our spectacular open spaces.

Music in Parks 2008 is proudly sponsored by Holden Astra and Drake International, and supported by New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT), The Lion Foundation, Radioworks (Solid Gold, The Breeze, More FM, Radio Live and Kiwi FM), 95bFM, Mission Bay The Promenade, Ecover, and NZ Rockshops.

Holden Astra Summer Sounds Waiheke's Little Day In is also contributed to by Waiheke Friends of the Street and Sealink.
