Total Hosing Ban In Force

A total hosing ban is now in place in the Tararua district.


Utilities manager Dave Watson said dwindling river flows, combined with resource consent limitations regarding water usage had prompted the decision.


The district would need sustained rain before the ban could be reversed, Mr Watson said.


“That means more than just a shower.”


The hosing ban comes about three weeks earlier than last year’s.


Mr Watson said he requests the public to be co operative and to make an effort to save water.


Any small measure of saving will go towards helping the situation
