Navy to support Auckland Anniversary
Navy Frigate HMNZS TE KAHA will berth alongside Princes Wharf from Thursday, 24 January until sailing for Guard Ship Duties for Auckland Anniversary Day at 09:30 am Monday, 28 January. TE KAHA will form one end of the start line at anchor in Auckland Harbour.
While alongside in Auckland, TE KAHA will exercise her Charter with Auckland City on Friday, 25 January commencing at 11:00 am from Waitemata Plaza. Accompanied by an Armed Guard, Colour Party and the Navy Band, platoons of personnel from TE KAHA will depart from Princes Wharf at 10:35 am for the 10 minute march to Waitemata Plaza arriving prior to the start of the Charter Parade. The Reviewing Officer for the Charter Parade is His Worship the Mayor of Auckland, the Honourable John Banks.

Open Ship
HMNZS TE KAHA will be open to the public on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 January from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm – members of the public are warmly welcome to take a tour onboard the warship and meet the men and women of your Navy.
Navy Band Concerts
The Navy Band will perform two concerts for the public on Te Wero Island in the Viaduct Harbour – Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 January from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm.
Beat Retreat Ceremonial Sunset Ceremonies
Two Beat Retreat Ceremonial Sunset Ceremonies by a 50 man Guard of Honour from HMNZS PHILOMEL will be held – Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 January from 5:30 pm until 6:00 pm in the Waitemata Plaza. The Sunset ‘evening gun’ will be fired from HMNZS TE KAHA berthed at Princes Wharf.
