White Ferns coach Steve Jenkin said: “We are expecting two exciting series which will act as excellent preparation for the 2009 World Cup in Australia.

“Choosing three teams, including the A squad, gives us the opportunity to expose some new players to international cricket. It also allows selectors flexibility to make some changes between series, as a number of experienced players will miss either or both tours.

“Maria Fahey and Louise Milliken have been ruled out through illness and injury, Suzie Bates is unavailable for both series, Helen Watson will miss the England series, and Beth McNeill the Rose Bowl.

“Although we will miss those players, we are confident the other White Ferns have proven their talent in recent seasons, and that the new and recalled players will take the opportunity presented.

“We are pleased to welcome uncapped players Ingrid Cronin-Knight and Lucy Doolan into the squad, and to welcome back Katey Martin.”
