Urban property owners with excessive long grass or other rank vegetation are required to clear it in order to avoid significant fire risk.

Council staff are on the lookout and anyone who receives an official letter requesting the removal has two weeks to do so.

Property owners who have not acted or made contact within that time will incur the cost of removal by a contractor.

This is a districtwide problem. Please treat it seriously.
