The council is putting itself under scrutiny with a random survey to seek public feedback on services and issues of interest to residents.

The survey involving a representative cross section of residents will start on Friday February 8 and should be completed by Sunday February 17.

It will be conducted by the National Research Bureau.

People living throughout the district will be contacted by telephone and asked their opinion on subjects ranging from the performance rating of the mayor and councillors and the staff, to degrees of satisfaction with the overall service received when contacting the council’s offices.

Opinions on council consultation, district safety, community spirit and the natural environment will also be canvassed.

Council chief executive Roger Twentyman said that the survey was part of the council’s ongoing commitment to actively seek public opinion and involvement.

The surveys are conducted at three yearly intervals.
