Daniel Flynn, having scored 149 against the Canterbury Wizards today, has been whisked into the BLACKCAPS side as a replacement for the injured Jacob Oram for tomorrow's match against England at AMI Stadium, Christchurch.

The 22-year-old has been an in-form player for the Northern Districts Knights in all aspects of the game all season.

Sir Richard Hadlee, selection manager for the BLACKCAPS, said that Flynn's innings today indicated his explosive power where he hit the ball both to and over the boundary.

"This is a great opportunity to introduce another exciting young player into the BLACKCAPS squad. His innings today was at better than run-a-ball and as a left-hander he will fit beautifully into our middle order at No. 6 or 7," he said.

Flynn captained the New Zealand Under 19 side to the Youth World Cup in Bangladesh in 2004.

Oram has a tight left hamstring and his omission is a precautionary move ahead of Saturday's one-day international against England in Wellington.
