Mayoral Challenge Hotting Up
There are only a couple of weeks until Franklin’s Mayoral Challenge on 26th February and the event is hotting up – literally. Franklin District Council has announced that they will be firing up the bbq’s and having a free sausage sizzle for all participants. All you need to do is bring yourself down to the Pukekohe Park Raceway, Tuesday 26 February from 6- 8pm and take part.
The free sausage sizzle is just one of the many free and fun events to entertain participants before the big challenge where Mayor Mark Ball aims to cycle around the Pukekohe Park Raceway with as many residents as possible. Franklin will be competing with cities and districts around the country to earn, through the amount of participation, the title of ‘Cycle Mad City’. The more people who come to enjoy the fun cycling evening the more likely we are to win!
Radical Rydz and the New Zealand Police will be on hand from 6pm until the Mayoral Challenge ride for free bike and helmet checks. So, if you have a bike in the back of the garage and aren’t sure whether it’s good enough to ride, bring it anyway and find out!
Come to the Mayoral Challenge and you will be able to enter the draw for the brand new Avanti bike the Mayor will ride on the night. Spot prizes will also be up for grabs.
