New Zealand Cricket has agreed a partnership with New Zealand winemaker Sileni Estates.

The Hawke’s Bay-based producer, established in 1997, is New Zealand Cricket’s Official Wine Supplier for the 2007/08 season, including The National Bank Series between the BLACKCAPS and England.

Graeme Avery, CEO and Owner of Sileni Estates, said: “Sileni is very pleased to be able to provide wine sponsorship to New Zealand Cricket, especially with the number of BLACKCAPS matches played in Hawke's Bay this season and our past affiliation with The Oval.

“We see this sponsorship as a great way to promote Sileni, Hawke's Bay wine and Hawke's Bay as a region and we look forward to the matches in the area and wish the BLACKCAPS every success.”

Peter Dwan, NZC Commercial Manager, added: “NZC is delighted to enter into a partnership with a local supplier of top quality wine for the 2007/08 season. Hawke's Bay has been a key part of New Zealand's wine heritage and an important area in our cricket history. Our partnership helps recognise this.”

The BLACKCAPS play England in Napier in an ODI on 20 February, and in third Test, starting at McLean Park on 22 March.

Sileni’s winery near Hastings, which includes a Gourmet Cellar Store, Restaurant, Culinary School and The Village Press Olive Oil is open to visitors year round with extended hours throughout the summer.
