Mangakino/Pouakani sub-committee re-elects chairperson

The Mangakino/Pouakani sub-committee of the Taupo Distrist Council last week elected its chairman and deputy chairman for 2008-2010.



Councillor Ailsa Gathergood was unanimously elected as chairperson. This is Cr Gathergood’s third term in the position.



Cr Gathergood will be supported by Cr Barry Hickling as deputy chairman and Mayor Rick Cooper, plus three community representatives as opposed to two as has been the case in previous years.



The community representatives are Whitu Karanua, Peter Kidd and Kirsty Trueman.



The committee meets bi-monthly at Taupo District Council’s Mangakino office.
